Stila Color Wheel Eye Shadow Palette {Review}

I wish I could like this palette more. It's so aesthetically pleasing, but it lacks a lot in terms of practicality and performance. I found the eyeshadows really difficult to swatch and have attempted over three times and am still not very pleased with the swatches included in this post. At this point, I just want to be stop dragging it out any longer.

The smaller pans make it hard to get product out which can get very frustrating. Overall, the eyeshadows feel smooth but most of them are not as pigmented as I expected them to be. Swatching was doubly difficult because I had to layer a lot for only a decent amount of color and there was plenty of fallout. My palette looks nowhere as pristine as it did in the product shots. The black plastic makes fingerprints very obvious and it's hard to clean the palette from all the fallout without contaminating other colors.

Overview
  • Copper (4) and Sepia (5) - took fewer layers to get good swatch
  • Tan (8) - one of the colors most difficult to swatch
  • Antique Gold (9) - one of the most pigmented
  • Olive (11) - terrible pigmentation; streaky with fallout
  • Dark Olive (12) - looks like a wannabe matte black with no green undertones; more of a black matte with tiny golden sparkles
  • Mint (13) - gorgeous and pigmented aquamarine with a slight golden yellow undertone
  • Mint (13) - stains when used wet with MAC Fix+
  • Teal (14) - swatched a lot darker compared to what it looks like in the pan
  • Teal (14), Gunmetal (15), and Turquoise (17) - decent pigmentation
  • Turquoise (17) - stains when used wet with MAC Fix+
  • Sky Blue (19) - good pigmentation
  • Light Violet (22) - such a pretty color but unfortunately has terrible pigmentation
  • White (25) and Lavender (26) - fair pigmentation
  • Pale Pink (31), Dusty Rose (32), Aubergine (33), and Nude (34) - all are fairly pigmented alone
  • Aubergine (33) - gorgeous color when used wet
  • Mauve (35) - worst color out of the entire palette; it would just powder dust off me and would barely show up even after about ten layers of color
  • Brown (36) - seemingly matte, but has slight shimmer
