Nail Colors Galore!

I finally got around to swatching all of my current nail polishes and decided to put up a mega post. It helps me keep track of the brands and colors I own, but I also wanted to see if readers would want to see reviews or even just actual nail swatches of particular colors. So if you see anything that peaks your interest or have any questions, do let me know! Listed from left to right, most swatches are alone, but sheerer polishes (like glitter top coats) have an additional swatch over Black Taxi, which is an opaque, creamy black.

Shot of the Day {New Header}

lippy roll

During my last week in Chicago at the end of February, I went to a MAC Pro store and got myself a huge haul--the most I'd bought from MAC, ever. I'm usually uninterested in their collections, but ended up really loving the aesthetic of the Chen Man one: the promo images, the colors, the packaging, and the actual products themselves. The lip colors appealed to me most, and I was able to nab all of them. Plus, there were already a few other things I'd been coveting.. Anyway! I had fun shooting my newly acquired MAC products and posted a new header. Picnik was used to add the text and small designs. I'm actually kind of sad that we'll be saying goodbye to Picnik soon, I used it quite a bit, even a year ago. It was fun using it today, and it will be missed. (︶︿︶)

Auto Blue

Above is the look I wore to the Chicago Auto Show last month with Frank, Kenny, and Nick. It's a rounded and blue-based look, where the appearance OCC's Mirrorball is very subdued. Hit the jump for more photos and a list of products used!

Nails of the Day -- Minky Mani

Towards the end of January, I wanted to try a manicure using tape for a design and some ManGlaze colors. I absolutely adore the color Mink Mitten, so I wore that again with a few accent nails.

A Collaboration Celebrating 20 Years of Sailor Moon: Mars

A few weeks ago, Mai asked on twitter if anyone was up for doing a blogger collaboration with Sailor Moon characters and colors. Of course I was still up at 3:30 in the morning and wanted to join. What girl didn't grow up watching Sailor Moon when they were younger? (Nostalgia factor max!) Mars and Saturn were always my favorites, and I'm lucky I got to do a look for one of them. I loved Rei's hair, how she had the power of fire as an archer, and the colors of her uniform. So a bunch of us from the beauty blogosphere have decided to showcase two weeks of heroine/villain makeup looks for our love of the series, and in celebration of 20 years of Sailor Moon. My scout is Sailor Mars, and I hope I did her some justice. I'm honestly not really pleased with the way I took the photos but got some editing help from Frank and tried to make the best of them. Please check out the other awesome looks by the rest of ladies! I have their looks linked below after the cut~ And keep watch for our upcoming villain looks!

Dior Garden Edition Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Garden Roses

I typically shy away from beauty products by Dior mainly because of their pricing, but I couldn't resist their recent spring palettes. Previously, I had been debating whether or not to actually purchase the Garden Roses quint when I saw Anna's post on the Garden Pastels version, then my decision was finalized. The colors are velvety smooth and I really like the floral aesthetic to them as well.

Sugarpills Before Rock Bottom

Before I left for Chicago in early February, I hung out with Christine and did her makeup again! We got ready at her house before we made our way down to Bethesda's Rock Bottom Brewery. Plus, this time we took pics! There were more photos, but a lot didn't have proper focus, and I'm sad to say that these aren't the best in terms of lighting and camera calibration either. But in the end, I still like the makeup I did for Christine and was proud of myself--it was a good learning experience!
