Hisoka [Hunter x Hunter]

The lacuna left behind after finishing Hunter x Hunter has been too great. It's been over a month since I watched all 148 episodes of the 2011 release in less than ten days. Shortly afterwards, I practiced this look and have hoarded these photos ever since. I know in my heart that I've kept them for long enough.. so here I am forcing myself to post them tonight. It's Halloween after all.

it would've been better if my nails were longer then

Hisoka isn't even a favorite, but for some reason I really wanted to try and capture his aesthetic. (Maybe I'm just particularly drawn to jester and playing card motifs—like with Harley.) He gets a decent amount of character development in the show, and I adore his deadpan side-eyes.

Part of the reason I'd been hoarding the photos is because I actually feel proud of these photos (which doesn't happen often). My lighting setup isn't the most ideal, I don't know a lot about cameras and taking selfies, but it's as if the photos (and makeup) ended up looking as how I imagined in my mind. It is a strange (but refreshing) feeling to like something that I've created: for me and by me.

product placement

I really, really dislike my forehead, I tend to crop it out from photos and don't like showing it in public by having bangs. It felt alright to show it for this Hisoka look though.
